Starting A New Journey

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Now that I have been home for a few weeks, I have had a chance to reflect on the two weeks I spent in Stuttgart and Heidelberg, Germany.  I spent the first week of this trip visiting old friends that I had met along my journey and helping to establish a better connection with them.  The second part of the trip was for the purpose of meeting fellow Pioneer Missionaries, Alan and Mary, who minister in Heidelberg and seeing the work they are doing there.

My week in Heidelberg was a busy one.  While I was there, an organization from Athens, Georgia was also there helping to establish relationships among college students at Heidelberg University.  The organization, ‘The Great Exchange,’ goes onto college campuses engaging college students in a Spiritual Interest Survey asking nine simple questions.

It was amusing to hear individuals say that they would like to have a personal relationship with God while at the same time they believe God does not exist.  Using this opportunity, we were able to share the foundation of the Gospel.

What is the next step for me?  Shortly after returning home, I received an email that stated Alan and Mary had given me two thumbs up along with an invitation to join their ministry in Heidelberg.  This is exciting news!  My next step is to officially begin deputation and seek partners to join me in ministering in Germany.  This is what I will be doing over the next year.  Currently my departure date is set for August 2015.

How can you help?  I ask that you please be my prayer partner and join me in prayer as I begin this process.  Pray that the Lord would provide all the necessary funds needed.

Also, please be my “cheerleader.”  Currently I have approximately 70 individuals and families to whom I send letters, this number needs to grow.  Pioneers estimates that for my current monthly budget (which is still being critiqued by the missionaries on the field) I need close to 400 partners.  This is a big difference.  I understand that not everyone is in a place in their life where they can give financially.  That is ok, but I just ask for prayer and a simple word of encouragement along the way.

If you can give, please prayerfully consider what the Lord would lead you to give monthly.  You can either make a pledge to give later or begin to give now.  You may also do a one time gift to help cover any departure expenses.  To give online click here.  To view other ways of giving, please visit the support page of my website by clicking here.

Over the next year, I will be sharing more about what my budget will look like and where money will be spent. I will also be sharing more detail about the ministry in Heidelberg, what it will look like and the role I will be playing.
