An Introductory Letter

Dear Friends and Family,

In his first letter to Timothy, Paul writes in chapter 1 verse 12 to 15:
I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.

It was after reading this short passage, that I felt God calling me into the mission field.  Within the passage, I could see myself in Paul’s shoes and found it truly amazing that God could use a sinner such as me to fulfill His mighty work on this earth.  I spent most of my time praying and searching where the Lord would have me serve Him.  Through His sovereignty, God sent into my life a young man from Germany whom I had the chance to befriend.  It was through this friendship and the conversations that we had I wanted to go visit Germany.  During this time I thought, why not make a mission trip out of it?  I never knew that the first trip in 2008 would lead me to begin pursuing full time missions in Germany.  Through various other events and through God’s plan, He has allowed me to partner with my home church, The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama and also with Pioneers (a mission organization), based in Orlando, Florida.

Throughout the time I have spent in Germany, God has allowed me to work in Stuttgart.  However, my time in Stuttgart has come to an end.  Pioneers has a missionary couple working in Heidelberg.  Lord willing, I will be able to partner with this couple as they minister to college students throughout the city, as Heidelberg is a large university city.  I plan to make an introductory trip to visit this team in July and spend a week with them; working alongside them, getting to know each other, and discussing how I might be a part of their ministry.  I look forward to see how the Lord will mold this trip to work towards His glory.

It would also be my privilege to speak to your church, small group, or youth group about the ministry that I will be doing in Germany.  You may contact me at: Tylerabowman@gmail.com.  To learn more about Pioneers, please visit www.pioneers.org.

I thank you for your continued prayer and support throughout the years.

For His glory,

Tyler A. Bowman
