How old is to old to serve the Lord?
I meet the team from Florida yesterday and on this team is a lady who is 84 years young. Still doing mission work and doing what the Lord has placed in her life. Praise God that He uses us no matter what our age, our skin color, or our disabilities.
Spiritual Love!
I am reading a book called Life Together: The Classic Exploration of Faith in Community by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I want you to read a quote.
"Right here is the point where spiritual love begins. This is why human love becomes personal hatred when it encounters genuine spiritual love, which does not desire but serves. Human love makes itself an end in itself. It creates of itself an end, an idol which it worships, to which it must subject everything. It nurses and cultivates an ideal, it loves itself and nothing else in the world. Spiritual love, however, comes from Jesus Christ, it serves him alone;it knows that it has no immediate access to other persons.
Jesus Christ stands between the lover and the others he loves..."
I could go on quoting from Bonhoeffer. But these words stuck to me. I pray tonight, that I will have no more human love, but that all my love will come from the Lord Jesus Christ. Make my love Spiritual Love.
